I loved my experience as an apprentice at Salon Sixteen. The in-house training I received was fantastic from our Salon Sixteen training academy. I felt well supported throughout, learning new skills every training session. What I really love is, since having qualified as a stylist in 2014, i continue to grow skills and keep up to date through training opportunities with Wella and Redken........plus I’m always learning from other members of our team........so i never stop learning new skills & techniques!
My experience at Salon Sixteen as an apprentice was brilliant. I loved being trained in-house at the salon along side others at the same level. I realised towards the end of my apprenticeship, that I had a real passion and love for Colour. I’m so pleased I had the courage to say so to my trainer too, as an opportunity then opened up for me to become a colourist at Salon Sixteen. I then went on a year long intensive Master course which now gives me the title of a “ Wella colour master expert”! I feel so proud to be the main colourist at our Salon and I’m helping advise and teach our team now!
I felt really well supported being trained in-house as an apprentice. Although at times it’s pretty nerve-racking learning new skills, my trainer was with me every step of the way. Since qualifying as a stylist in 2015, I have continued to be encouraged to grow as a stylist to learn new skills. We have 1/2 a day team training in-house with Wella 4 times a year, as well as I have corses up in London through Wella & Redken which are fab. Other skills I have gained and responsibilities include, becoming a qualified first aider, assistant manager (including taking over the manger role for 9 months) in charge of stock control & the holiday rota. All in all I’m pretty proud of all I have achieved!
